Slingerland 1967 Sparkling Silver Pearl

Loading...

Here's my 1967 4pc Slingerland kit in original Sparkling Silver Pearl! The killer snare drum is a steam-bent solid maple Vaughncraft shell, with all the hardware donated from the original Artist snare drum. Yes, I still have the original Artist shell! Oh yeah, the rail consolette is from Steve Maxwell, connected to the original Slingerland diamond plate. Really looks and works great!

BEE-YOO-TEE-FUL!

Even though my kit is a light blue pearl (which I've had for a year and a half and never get tired of looking at ... er, and playing of course!), I think my favourite wrap/finish of all time would probably be silver sparkle. Maybe for my next kit ...

That snare is badass...I've heard it in person. I would love to hear the whole kit.....been a long time since we've hung out.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

In '67 they might still be the chrome over brass sticksavers instead of the chrome over steel they changed to around that time.

But they wouldn't be die cast at any stage..

Hey there! Had I not brought the snare to your house, I would never have realized it needed tuning! Man...I must be getting old!

Slingerland's "Rim Shot Counterhoops" were definitely heavier than what most companies were using at the time, but they are not die-cast. Yes, they are all COB!!! I've also since put original 60's heads back on they sound fantastic! What a kick to play this set.

Hey Backbeatkeeper! The kit is over at my girlfriends, so I can bring them over to your place soon!
