Does anyone have info on these drums?

Loading...

I'm looking for some information on this snare and bass drum, even the origin would be great! The snare is 14"x4 3/4" and the bass 20"x15". The lugs are solid, I was surprised at how heavy the snare was when I picked it up.

The wrap has faded from a dark green to the pinkish colour it is now. Is there a way of determining a drum's age by how much it has faded? :p

Never heard of 'Stradivarius' drums.

Must say: the snare is really awesome. The fading has made it a seriously beautiful looking drum (I dislike green).

English/ American badge ... And there are some aspects that make me think it could be an early Premier's ...

Unfortunately there is no possibility to judge from the fading of the finish to it's age. It depends on how intensely it was exposed to direct sunlight at a certain time. The fading would not have happened if the drum was stored at a place protected from daylight all the time.

Ia'm with Ralf on this one to me also the parts lugs,t-rods and claws, tom mounts on the bass drum all look to be Premier or maybe Olympic my best guess is that maybe a custom made line of drums by them lugs,t-rods,tom mounts look 60s to me but the shell looks newer than that...Mikey

And what is it with that black (sprayed on?) stripe on the shell of the bass drum, obviously batter side?

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

The seller had the kick and snare in her shed along with a 1920's or 30's (?) Premier snare.

The stripe on the bass drum is the original colour of the wrap. The bass drum hoop was pushed all the way to the lugs (there was no reso head), and I'm guessing it had been sitting in that position for a while while the rest of the wrap faded.

I am REALLY starting to like the off the wall drums from different places around the world.......

How many Rogers/Slingerland/Gretsch etc can you see before you go "YAWN"?
