Are one of the best kept secrets out there.I have one as a shelf sitter but i took it to rehearsal tonight just to get the dust off. This is a heavy, well built drum that shocked the hell out of me.What a beautiful sensitive, articulate drum capable of performing at all levels...DO NOT hesitate to buy these when you see them.Mine came with a kit,and believe me,snare drums i dont need, but this one has me still shaking my headEye Ball

And how long, pray tell have I been harping on these seriously under-rated and under utilized drums? I have one as well, and I have been telling you guys, this is a SLEEPER... and now, with the Fyberskin 3 on it, it is so mellow. It sounds so amazing, and the range is off the hook. You can tune it low and get a really warm sound, or high and it sings like nobodies business.

And the best part? You can still buy them for less than 40/00 bucks, because no one really knows about them. Get one for 20 and you will not be disappointed!

Have been told shortly that this (the STAR KingBeat) is the snare drum a famous drummer (from Police) played on the well-known albums, although TAMA would surely negate that by saying he played the TAMA snare drums ...

Yes, Copeland did indeed play KingBeats, both the Star, and the VERY early TAMA, it was called the KingBeat as well in the first year. I just missed one on ebay that had the TAMA badge and Star strainer. Damn, I wanted that snare...but did not have the extra cashola...
