Currently working on a 7 piece virgin double bass 3 ply early 70's Ludwig kit to be wearing....MOD ORANGE.

I noticed one of the hoops is warped. Anyway of fixing. Or all most off these like that becuase of its age????????????????

That's not normal. I think your problems will compound if you don't replace it; but try mounting it with head, tune it up and see if you get good contact to bearing edge w/out ripples in the head. Before that, measure the shell in a few different spots and see how round it is(22" is ideal). These are basic preliminary considerations before you get $deep into the project, but you are on the right track!

This worked for a 14 inch wood snare hoop, but maybe you can apply the principles....
