Question concerning elderly Premier bass drum

Hello,

I must admit that I've become disloyal to my two STAR sets and just bought a Premier's '303 Outfit' in the unbelievable grey shimmer finish. Pics are to come if all is completed.

Concerning the bass drum claws I have a question to the Premier freaks:

if I tighten the head with the L-arm tension rods, in the very last turnings the L-arm rod snaps into it's claw (which has a deepening there). Was it Premier's intention to fix the rod against loosening? Or is there just missing a washer to keep it in distance from the claw? (All rods at my bass drum have no washer.)

Ralf

I had a set with these, and never encountered any locking, so perhaps not.

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

Hey Ralf, On the Premier T-rods and claws--Premier had a flat washer made of metal--Not like the wahers you would fine on the toms a bigger one to fit into the claw...I have used plastic washers that are thin to fix into the claw ...Mikey
