And it's in my living room! These are some fine shells, and in fantastic condition! I couldn't wait to set them up, before spilling the beans. The shells are 3 ply, thin maple, thick mahog, thin maple, and they are so cool. The snare is a COB!!! I may have to sell the WMP....but we'll see. The cymbals are a Ziljian Bronze, have no idea how opld, and the hats are brand new, barely played B8s...I know, all a waste of good bronze, but hey, these were on the Jonnistix discount-o-rama plan! I will get the heads on and see how they sound, but look....Orange Sparkle Astro from the 70s. Battleship lugs from Pearl, the ones they used on the mid-line Pearl kits of the day. There is only minor scuffs and a small crack in the wrap on the floor tom....I'm stoked to get these. COB stencil snare....WooHoo!!! More pix to come...thought they down loaded, but I can't find them...stoopid computer.

more pix, lost the dang things...Now, the 20" Ziljian says "bronze" and I would like to know if it is worth anything as it sounds nice. I have never seen these before. The Sabians, well they look like they have barely come out of the box, and sound....well....like crap, honestly....unless I just don't know how to play them.

Wow!! Nice find Jonni!! Those look to be in great shape. 3 ply shells would sound like cannons wouldn't they! Is the snare a 5" x 14"? Nice to have the COB.

If you can, I would keep the WMP kit if I were you. Just my opinion.

Happy drummin'

Cheers

I think 80's Scimitar cymbals had bronze imprinted on them.Another mid-line student cymbal.Nice drums, and the tom mount has a press-clip for the hex rod.Don't think I've seen that before.

They are in fantastic condition, no fade, very strong color, and I am certain it is all original becase these are stick on metal badges and the floor tom has a small crack in the wrap by the legs, in the place most are are cracked. The issues are that the original hex tom mount plate and arm for the bass are missing. I will await Mikey to see if he can get one to me. I will post more pix, set and cleaned. I just found an email in the box from a C/L listing like 6 weeks ago and called the guy to see, and he said come on, look at them, so went and bought them.

The hardware is all very cheap, Adam modern ultra low end stuff that will go to a rescue set eventually.

Far too cool for school, john!!

Nice! Makes me drool!

I do have a bone to pick though... I've got these Royal Stars still sitting in the garage, and now I'm thinking some MIJ stuff might be nice!

Royal Stars...? Not sure I follow, and you may very well be right...What are Royal Stars? And these were far too cheap to even think about passing. Michael, no, they were a local score. Is there a set like them on the 'bay like these?

Gary, show some pix, maybe they will get gone. I really wanted the Peacock Pearl set a few posts down, but he is a bit too high for my taste, and these may go on the action block, once they are cleaned, and Mom has her say...

I fear she stumbled on them while I was away...

Strange...22-12-16...and I am certain there is a missing 13. The 12 is out of place. I think the original set up was a single-double tom post, the Pearl hex mount is the original. There are the dreaded extra holes, the hex plate was diamond shaped and this one is square. But those are only 4 very small ones, and that is the extent of "upgrading-updating", as far as I can tell.

Mikey!!! I needs some parts, Bud-day!!!
