The only times I "teach" the seller is for mailed paper history, catalogs flyers. I ask them to bag it, because I have had mail left outside in the rain. Kevin! it really is not your job to say "Hey Dillweed" can you protect the parts! I see eBay items come in to the shop and wonder how these people sell when they pack the way they do. There should be a class on how to pack and ship. Don't ask me about the Sony reciever that was shipped with no packing in the box... :( David

Thanks for that David.... you're right, it isn't..............

This thread is my only b.i.t.c.h. lately about Ebay. Most of the stuff I get and send are packaged good. I did buy a older Pearl tom to match my gigging kit, the seller also had a SKB case for it. I won the auction and the Seller wrapped the case with newspaper, with the drum inside and no packing......

Did he also charge a "handling fee"?

I had 2 boxes delivered this week, and one of them was as Kev described. Chrome parts stuffed in a box with one piece of wrapping paper thrown in the box, not really even wrapped around the 3 parts...I only paid $22.00 for the parts, delivered and they are worth much more to me, as MIJ cymbal "L" arms are really hard to come by, especially in good condition, without a bass drum attached. But still, I don't see how it can be any more difficult or really time consuming to wrap each part so they don't beat each other up.

So should I follow this example, or lead by example?

When I do sell on Ebay, which it's been a few months since I last did, I do at least 10 items when I do and start them at .99 each. No Reserve. I pack the items carefully and I do charge a Handling fee, which is a couple of bucks. Packing material isn't cheap and I use it.
