Here's the 20" bass drum from the late '50s kit I'm working on. Pardon the poor quality of the pics and the condition of the drum. Other than the patched/reinforced spur hole, this is the condition the drum was received in. Think of it as a "before" shot.

If you'd like clearer pics or shots of specific details, let me know.

WOW thats perfect man! thanks alot i am asking because i just bought one and it need some work to it, and some parts, mostly parts. i was'nt for sure if the legs were the right ones and i could not find any pics of them. but now i know there the right ones.

i noticed on my bass there is hole with some hard ware on the left bottom side. does your bass drum have the same thing and could i get some pics of what your left bottom side looks like.

Other than lug screws, the only holes in the bottom half of my shell were the two spur holes. I could take a picture, but there's nothing to take a picture of. The lower left of the shell looks just like the rest of the drum. If you post a pic of yours, maybe we could help you figure it out.

As for the parts you need... What are you looking for? I have some leftovers from the parts I acquired to work on this drum and might be able to help you out.

To me ,In photo's 1,2,3, it look's like someone did try to add a bass drum muffler at one time..Or at one time the drum could have had calf heads and someone added a heating rod to the drum..i have seen drums[bass drum's]] with that added to help keep the calf head tight--calf heads will loosen up if it's cold out side or if the drum is in a cool building-- to get the tone out of it...Mikey

i couldnt find any other bass drums with that hole. i got the set from a kid who got it from his dad. he told me it had a gold sparkle wrap on it and he didnt like the color so he took all the lugs and stiped it down and in the process he lost the badge. i have looked everything up on this web sight as far as wood and type and stuff like that and it looks pretty much like an old slingerland. some stuff looks a little fishy but i just cant tell what year and if everything is original or if some stuff was added.

if it did have calf heads at one time did slingerland make bass drums with that hole or was that added?

does any one know where i could get some parts for this thing.
