OK. A couple of more finds. They look in kinda rough shape. I don't think lugs on the blue kit are original. The ad says he was going to fix up the drums, so not sure what he has done to either of the kits. I have emailed, and I am waiting for a reply to a bunch of questions. Do the wraps look original, and about what year would you put either kit at. Also, in the shape shown in the pics, what do you think they are worth, INC. shipping. Gotta go a province away. Any info would be great. I will include a link to one ad, and to see the other kit, just click on POSTERS OTHER ADS. If the link doesn't work, just go to PEI KIJIJI, and look at drums and percussion. Not many ads there. Should find it pretty quick.

It might be. Just wondering about the condition. Looking for info about the wrap, lugs, year, worth? I'm more interested in the blue kit, but I would buy both if they were worth it.

OK, this is a 3 ply, early Star kit. He says he has other parts, if the lugs and hoops are there, COOL! If not, Mikey will have them. Since he is moving, and if he still has them, grab them. I say no more than 50-75, rare wrap, good overall condition of shells, get them. No more than a 100 including shipping.

Thanks Jonni. I honestly didn't think the pink was original, although who would do that on their own? I didn't think the lugs on the blue diamond kit were original either. I have emailed and asked some questions, including price. No response yet.

Yeah, the blue marine pearl....I think those lugs are from the 80s, and the drums from the 60s, maybe 70s, depending on the ply layup, I don't think that was an option in the era of those lugs

the pink marine, or rose marine pearl was a very limited availability, and is really a rare wrap to find, although over the last couple of months there have been a couple show up, all on 3 ply shells.

On the two sets..The pink pearl is a Star and looks to be all original even the pink pearl finish..That is a very rare finish to fine on a Star set from the 60's..If i was you 150.00 for that set would be a great price...the blue set finish is original to the drums ,finish is from the late 60's..The lug's on the snare and floor tom are original to those two drums. Snare lugs were used on Crown drums and about 25 other names[[wish i could see the badge in photo]] used by pearl export sets, strainer is also one that was used on pearl made drums...lug's on floor tom again i have seen used on about 25 names made by Pearl in the late 60s..The lug's on the bass drum and mounted tom are Pearl copys[[could be copys from the 80s on]] that came out in about 1970 these lugs could be original to the drums but i would have to see the drums to know for sure...I would pay 50.00-75.00 for that set..So total i would pay for both sets is from 200.00-225.00...Mikey

Not sure I agree, guys... The pink marine pearl set looks to have the Pearl Sling copy lugs and the floor tom leg mounts look like the Pearl shape also (diamond shaped, as opposed to octagon Star leg mounts.) The tab bracket for the tom mount also doesn't look like the Star shape. I think this one might be a Pearl. The badge looks like a wider oval than the "World's Supreme" badge, it could be one of Pearl's black oval badge that says 'Japan' under the brand name.

The blue marine pearl set, on picture 4, has a badge on the snare drum. The badge is 'H' shaped, but I cant read it - Hoshino?

Regarding the prices, yes, I agree with the above ranges from Jonni and Mikey. These look like fun sets. I guess it depends on how much you like pink!

The lugs on the bass drum of the Pink pearl are Star. The blue, they look like it has the Pearl lugs, except on the snare and floor tom to me, even the ones that are original, IS a Hoshino. I really think the pink is a Star.
