Without a doubt, go to Steve Maxwell. These are very special drums...

Hi

I was looking at your drums from the eBay link on the Forum here and forgotten that I had already commented on your beautiful drums.

I would say please don't sell any of the original hardware separate from the drums. Any buyer would appreciate that. Prices for Vintage drums like yours are getting up there - especially a complete kit.

I can understand you may want to sell them quickly because you need the money but - again - it would be a lot better to sell the complete set. I know I very much appreciated it last fall when the seller included all the hardware, hard cases & cymbals with my 58 Gretsch drums.

I particularly like that snare drum of yours - it's one beautiful piece of drum history.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks Gary. I listened to a lot of advice regarding how to do this listing on eBay. I decided that since all of the stands weren't original Gretsch, that I would sell the hardware separately. Mainly, because I'm trying to get as much money for my friends' medical bills as possible...it's been amazing to be a part of this beautiful sets' life; they're truly gorgeous drums!

Cheers,

Rick

Thanks! I am pleased, and I know they're going to a good home. I'm looking forward to handing the money over to my friend who owned them; she's very happy and this will help her out a lot with her medical bills and such.

Thanks again for all the kind words and information, everyone!

Cheers,

Rick

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
