Who is your favorite drum head company

I have to allow that I am using Attack as resos on all my WMP toms and snare. And the single ply bass head with overtone control sounds great on my 22. At the moment, I have Ludwigs on the reso sides only because I was walking through the new Goodwill store last weekend and there in a plastic bag was a complete set of clears and a new snare batter. I couldn't believe they wanted so much....$3.00! (12-13-16 and coated snare, all Ludwig logo) Can you imagine? The nerve of those people....Evans EC2 on the 13, Remo Black Pinstripe on the 16, and I have the boys 14 sitting in for fun, and it have an Amb. coated on it.

So, I definitly have to say...????

A few years back I was fortunate enough to be working on a major record with a hot producer and a "real" budget. I was told to order LOTS of drum heads. So I went to my local store and ordered around $800 worth of various Remo's. 1 ply's, 2 ply's coated, clear, satin, EVERYTHING!

During the tracking of the record I was going through a set of tom heads every other song. Snare heads were 2-3 per song. I admit it's a litlle silly...but the producer wanted, so the producer got.

Point is, I ended up complaining to Remo because of the severe inconsistencies with their products. I had blow-outs from the ring, beaters going through bass drum heads, warped heads, excessive chipping of coated heads, black dots on the Emperor X's coming unglued. You name the problem, I had it.

Even after that fiasco, I ended up using Remo's on tour for about a year...4-6 nights a week. I still had issues with heads.

In 2006, I signed with Aquarian. I have never been happier. I have seriously not had 1 problem with any of their heads. They tune up evenly and perfect every time. I actually used the same snare head for an entire European tour with Pat Travers...( he said it sounded so good, not to change) which I thought was amazing!

All my new Ludwig's come equipped with Ludwig heads. They are a little heavier on their 1 ply's, but they are DURABLE.

AQUARIAN - Take the tap test!

Sorry about being long winded.

Thank You,

This is EXACTLY my experience, and I KNOW that there are others.....like I said before, Remo may be the biggest, but they are far from the best.

I am VERY happy with Aquarian heads as well and I'm not planning on going back unless there is a HUGE decline in quality, which I don't see being an issue as long as Roy Burns is involved with the company. :)

And from the last two testimonials, this is what I am trying to prove, to get a wide opinion level, and your right being the largest doesn't make you best, but being the most widely used does mean you are the most popular!! Even though That is Not what this POLL IS ABOUT, there is no such thing as best!!! I own remo, ludwig, aquarian. and attack which are great heads also!but remo are the one's I use the most which means nothing!!
