meazzi made drums for a few smaller companies and Amat of Torino (who still make great sounding if ugly sets) made parts for them. Alberti who were the major challenger to Meazzi were made up of very simular parts. Mezzi also sold drums branded as Pran Co drums in the 60s. The Jolly brand was the student model.

they added the proffesional part, due to confussion with the word amat sounding like amateur.

From pantalopp

first picture of my old meazzi jolly, just restored

The picture won't open for me for some reason so I can't see if you found your wrap? There seems to be a commonality in the wraps out of Europe between the 2nd W.W. and the mid-70's. My suspicion is that there was one company making them all. I have an early Trowa or early West German Sonor 14" floor tom in the same wrap(this would be from the late 40's-early 50's) and have seen other Trowa drums with this wrap. I also have a mid -60's 5x14 Tromsa snare with the same pattern wrap but in yellow/gold and silver. I have never seen this pattern elsewhere but on drums from the continent. Ripples and swirls and strata from elsewhere are not really the same. This wrap has more backwash, more eddies in the flow. I have never been able to find out what it is actually called. A 1960 Tromsa catalogue referenced(no pix) a wrap which translates as Tinsel -----perhaps it is my Tromsa wrap...anybody out there Know anything about this?

Paolo Sburlati told me that he bought the whole remaining inventory from Meazzy's wrap for Bill Cardwell from C&C drums. Maybe if someone needs some Meazzy wrap should give Bill a call...you never know...
