Cool experiment! Was the snare wire response the main difference or did the hoops seem to play any part in one sounding better than the other?

I would take one any day, however, you can not get one for what I paid for my Acrolite. As a matter of fact, you can't get an Acrolite for what I paid for my Acrolite....[COLOR=pink]free[/COLOR][COLOR=black]...[/COLOR]

These drums are under rated, Like a lot of Slingy snares. IMO

I've got a mid 70's 8 lug aluminum student model and it sounds great.
