FYI...I would recommend NOT trying to remove the Remo logo from a Remo Fiberskyn head

Loading...

I just got a Fiberskyn head for my bass drum and wanted to remove the logo and put on a vintage Slingerland logo. First I tried rubbing alcohol which didn't do anything. Then I tried fingernail polish remover. This removed some of the logo but smeared it around more than anything. Also, the fibers tend to hold some of the paint, so at best, I would have a light smudged image of the Remo logo. For the record, I have never had this outcome when removing logos from conventional smooth plasic heads.

In the future I will probably try to order my head through vintagelogos.com because they get their heads without the logos. Or I may try and contact Remo directly and see if I can get any help from them for ordering without a logo or something.

Anyway, I just wanted to post my experience in case someone was considering doing this themselves. If anyone has had success removing these logos please feel free to share your method for doing so.

Goof Off / Oops DOES NOT WORK!

Tried Goof Off, Oops, Lacquer Thinner, Denatured Alcohol and when that didn't work i tried an eraser and light sandpaper.

Not sure if REMO has changed the logos recently? Trust me they don't come off.

I use a shield on the front of my kick drum(a lot of vintage guys do) and it looks retard with the huge REMO logo.

Isn't the Fiberskyn a throwback/replica of old drum heads? I have never seen a stupid huge logo on any of those.
