More fromthe ATTIC!

Hello again chaps!

Many thanks to Vintagemore2000,Nutbox,Mikey777,Mcjnic,and James for trying to figure out that wierd snare drum. One day i shall find out what it is i hope.

In the meantime, more from my mate Georges' attic.

Pictures attached.

What Rogers is this?No badge on it,nor does it look like it had one.No serial number that i can see.I suspect it was painted over!!(don't know why anyone would want to paint the inside of the shell that colour, maybe they wanted it to look like a Gretsch?

Trixon,of which i know nothing.

And these bass drum fittings, old Premier maybe?Seven altogether(oh no,odd numbers,Monk would hate that!)

I suspect there are more things hiding in his attic yet.

What is he having me clean here?

P.s.Does that hoop on my previous post, belong on the Rogers drum here?

Once again,any help chums?

Most Grayefully yours,

Jonesy.Bowing

You are correct on the hoop, it goes with this Rogers. And it is a nice one to boot. Powertone? Or maybe you have a wood Dyna. As for the Trixon, German made, very good drums. If you find the jelly bean bass, you will have a blast, until you go looking for heads, that is. They are rather odd shaped. Ralf will likely show up and answer about the Trixon, he is a Geman collector. There are many others here that can offer much info as well.....

The Trixon is an excellent snare. The only odd shaped ones that would be difficult for head selection are the Speedfire sets. The Telstar conical drums have relatively standard heads, as do the Luxus, etc. According to the parallel throw, the badge, the lugs, and the muffler, that snare seems to be a 1/440 14x5 from about 65. Others will correct or verify. I've always loved the Trixon Telstar kits. One day I'll pull the trigger and own one. Just haven't found the right kit for me as of yet.

My guess is 1962-3 early Powertone. That is a keller 3 ply shell.

The rim you posted is for a Rogers Dyna snare drum its not for the Rogers you posted..The trixon snare is a very good sounding snare to have and yes i would date that at 1965 or so maybe up to 1967..The t-rods and claws you are right Premier from 1950s--60s...Mikey
