Cowbell

I'm looking for a 50s cowbell that will attach to the Slingerland mount in the pics. I've seen a few here and there that attach to a post style mount, but none yet that look like they would work with this one.

Thanks !!

I think that mount was for a small "Greko" cymbal as all of my vintage cowbells only had the handle with no mounting hole...

Hey Kev. Have you scoped a cowbell with the screw tension? It looks like it might work. The post accepter on the bell just needs to clear the perimeter of the vertical mount. Fit black rubber or black rubberized foam inconspicuously at the bell screw and it should work. It will be period correct and have a nice sympathic low tone mute to boot. It does mount on the bass, after all.

Thanks man

I think that would work too, and I've been looking, but haven't found an older cowbell yet that has that kind of attachment.

Plenty of newer stuff..... dang

I do have one lead on something that will work.... just waiting to see what happens with it.

Kevin,

That's the exact same cowbell & woodblock holder that came with my 59 Windsor's. I have the cowbell but no wood block, hmmm. There's a clamp, carriage bolt, and wingnut that holds the bell on. If you would like I can take a photo and send it to you. By the way,my cowbell has the hook for the clapper inside also.

Hey Kevin,Yes todddilema is right you are missing the clamp--the clamp looks like --A piece of metal about 1 3/4" long to 2" long and 3/4" wide its flat then a ''U'' shape flat then a''U''shape then flat..has a hole in middle for a carriage bolt[[size 1/4"]] if i recall right and a wing nut to hold the cowbell on...Anyway i think i have that clamp- but i think the ones i have are in chrome i will look..Mikey
