Slingy 16 inch Parade Drum

Hello All! I started this project a while back and just got to it again.

I like the color on the hoops. It is Red Mahogany.If the shell is maple and I can get it cleaned properly, should I leave it natural or stain to match.Or should I have left the hoops natural and stained the shell.Or paint it to match an original finish.

A before and after of the hoops.And the shell as it is now.

Thanks VM, Nice drum!Yes I think I will will stain it, if it cleans up. I am going to try that Safe Stripper? and see how it works. My days of toxic chemicals is slowly coming to an end. I like Donald even more!! Who did the art work?

I got that ole head off a 30's radio king, it is way cool, in fact that is how it was advertised as a Donald duck drum set for sale, you can imagine my surprise to find a 30's radio king kit instead of a toy drumset???
