I salvaged this from a water damaged kit and i got the edges re beveled a few years ago. this was the only drum that survived really. Anyone know what this wrap is called? I love the way it looks and honestly since i got the edges fixed ive been loving the sound and ive had quite a few compliments at venues about its sound. I dont know much about these besides that its a Pearl offshoot from the 60s but is there anyway to tell what year or anything else of interest? Thanks for looking folks.

One of many name drums made by Pearl-somewere in the late 60s[[1968-72]] snare..i can't recall the name of the finish but still a cool looking drum..By the way two toms that match that finish are up on c/l in ca for 29.99 for the 12" and 39.99 for the 16" floor tom..Mikey

Cool, thanks for the info. I use this snare with a 1954 WFL bass drum n tom and a 60s Ludwig floor tom, so ideally id like a ludwig snare but this one does the trick while im broke! The wrap looks almost like the set of 70s Olymipas that someone posted in the gallery though i dont know if theyre called the same thing.

Maybe il post some pics of the WFLs if people like checking them out, i know i do!

I imagine by the time i got it shipped to Canada it would be a lot more cash..

Darn...old thread, but I'd buy those two toms in a second. I just got a free Coronet snare in the same finish. Needs a little TLC, but would love to find other pieces to make a complete kit.

That's the same finish I have on the Tempro set I bought two weeks ago. I think it's called red grain pearl.

Mikey is a bit off on the dating. Those lugs indicate 72-74.

I had a snare from that era. Recut the edges to 45s and it sounded great after that.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
