I took the late model spur off of the bass drum and measured the hole spacing. The original bracket hole foot print is 1 7/8". Exactly the same as a floor tom leg bracket. The extra holes I will have to deal with are about 1/4" diameter.
The holes and wrap are sorta mashed inward. Not a hole with a clean edge. A mashed inward lookin hole. I know the newer spurs are a lot more efficient. Should I just forget it and go on, or attempt filling the holes and chase down parts? I see these legs and brackets on ebay all over the place. Another thing,
my 72 luddy tom brackets have the little swivel eye bolt inside with a wing nut to tighten the leg, the 61-63 floor tom bracket is solid with a wing screw that screws into the leg. I am assuming the latter yr bracket is more efficient, and tightens better?
