Newb With Rogers Pink Strata (?)

Loading...

I've finished detailing my three piece Rogers kit, Tower BD and tom, Luxor snare. I think this kit is circa '68 but I haven't quite pinned it down yet. I think the finish is pink strata but could be ripple pearl; not sure.

The drums are in relatively good shape. Structurally sound. Some raised chrome visible upon close inspection and a couple of chrome breeches on the lower bass drum rods/claws. Rear BD hoop has some pedal gouging and hoops have a few other scratched. Nothing that couldn't be easily refinished, if one were so inclined. Couple scratches on the tom shell. Snare is pretty much pristine.

The drums recieved a deep cleaning - everything disassembled, polished, lubricated and waxed. All original parts, I believe, other than four washers I replaced and cymbal holder cymbal rest and nut (and the heads, natch).

No major problems with these drums. Snare has original batter head.

Not sure how to search closed auctions on FleaBay to ballpark a price. Any help in that regard, I'd be much obliged. Any feedback in general, thanks in advance.

Very clean looking kit!Bowing

I believe that the wrap on yours is actually Wine Red Ripple Pearl in lieu of Pink Strata Pearl. I've got a Cleveland-era Rogers Holiday kit in Wine Red Ripple Pearl in the Drum Image Gallery. If you get a minute, please have a look and decide for yourself. The WRR Pearl wrap was offered from 1960 through 1967.

In regard to finding "closed auctions" on e-Bay, once you're on the site simply click on "BUY", type in the item you're looking for, click again and then look on the left side of your screen and find "COMPLETED ITEMS". Click on that and you'll see a listing of recent purchases for that particular item.

Good luck!

Yup, looks to be the same. Nice set! No history on eBay from what I can tell. Have to keep poking around. I'm ready to let these go.

That is a very nice set! I like them! Wanna trade for some WMP restored no badge stencils from 1960ish? :D

Hey, Chris, I am glad you are happy! I am thrilled the kit has found a good home. Maybe you'll score the elusive floor tom on your travels.

Keep on rockin'. band3
