Poor Ralph!- I am sure his eye twitches everytime he reads these kind of postsMind Blowi

JonniStix it`s even worse than you describe- because the HOSHINO I am mentioning has no connection to Hoshino/STAR/TAMA whatsoever. I propose that we agree to refer to it as Hoshino/Kawai and the other as Hoshino/Star that we we can all keep it clear that they were always two separate companies and competitors. What do you think about that?

I'm not real sure, but my first kit was a pearl white Stewart and I got it in 1980 or 81. It had a 20" Bass, a 12" Tom, 14" Snare and a Ride Cymbal which later "passed away". Can't remember the brand of ride. Still have the kit and incorporated it with a Mica-Sonic kit and some floor toms. Still bang on it as a matter of fact!
