I have a '64 Ludwig Classic kit in gold sparkle, that I am looking to sell in order to buy a used Mlasko kit. There are in very good shape except for two things: the single tom mount was replaced with a Ludwig double tom mount by the previous owner (I am the second owner.) Second, the white interiors of the shells were brushed with matte black paint to make them dark. I cannot fathom what would possess someone to do that, but the paint was done conservatively and doesn't appear to be gooped up on the edges at all. It seems to me that it would be easy to remove while preserving the original white, but I haven't touched it.
The chrome hardware is in great shape with no pitting and the shells are very solid. The serial number is 85XXX and the kit is a 22" bass, 16" floor, 13" mounted tom, and 1964 85XXX acrolite snare (14x5). I'm having difficulty getting pics up because the upload limit per picture is so small, but I'm working on it. The wrap also looks amazing, with no lifting that i can see.
Does anyone have an idea what these might be worth? Thanks a lot everyone.
