22" Zildjian Ride (Help)

Loading...

I want to purchase a Zildjian A 22" ride. I found this one at GC and wanted some input.

Based on the picture can anyone tell what era it is from? It looks to have a good sized bell which I like.

I know it is tuff without a stamp. I may be able to get them to send me a picture of it.

It is about the 12th listed cymbal from top to bottom.

It's at least a 60's ....may well be a 50's....just based on the lathing and proportions.

Great deal....but is there something wrong with it ? 'Cause it just seems hella cheap if it's a decent weight (say under 2900g).....

It weighs about 2800 grams. Yes it does have very small keyhole and a couple of dents not on the bell but near it. Do small dents affect the sound?

...that's not a bad weight....consider it a straight-up medium ride.

No...the dings near the bell wouldn't effect the sound, really...nor will the keyhole. It's more a matter of market value. Dings really make the market value nosedive.....Just make sure there aren't any spider-cracks near the keyhole or the dings.

So...you might not be able to turn her for a profit if she didn't suit you. But you'd very likely be able to turn her for what you got her for....

Not a bad proposition....could turn out to be a keeper.....
