Try not to hate me. I told my husband he has to sell his drum. His mother sent it to us a year ago. I think if he has lived without it for 40 years, he doesn't need it. And, I don't want it in our guest room. I would just take it to Goodwill. He wants to sell it. Can you tell us what it is worth? This is what I know. It is a Rogers Luxor No. 15901. It is 6"X14". Black diamond pearl finish. Printed on bottom is, "Remo Weather King Ambassador Snare". I have attached pics.
Rogers Luxor Snare
I'll buy those sticks. I'll send a pm
[COLOR="Red"]electricit You come to a vintage drum site.....and say that you are forcing your husband to sell an old Rogers snare drum...which used to be his when he was younger and has been kept by his mom until recently....
...because it's taking up room in the GUEST room ? (not the living room, your bedroom, the kitchen, family room, or dining room...????)
(how much room does a snare drum take up...exactly ? DOH)
And then you say you were just gonna drop it off at Goodwill.....Mind Blowi
...and then rationalize it by saying if he hasn't played it in all this time...he doesn't NEED it.....
And you are asking us to....relate to your plight.....?????? Mister T
Perhaps the drum has some meaning to your husband beyond just being a....drum...
You remind me.... of the kinda GF.... we here have all broken up with, at one time or another..... years and years ago......(bless 'em all.)

Hey jaye, look at it like this, if he doesn't want it, send it off to a good home!
ha ha ha! that likens itself too...... this ***elry is cluttering up my drawers! she never uses them and i just cant stand to look at them when im rooting around my house in places i never really use! you really can insert any thing in place of ***elry like shoes etc. etc.... really and i get the feeling this maybe not within the poor guys knowledge. tyranny and grounds for dismissal. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/images/smilies/Lame.gif
Wow! You guys are harsh. I'll try not to take it personally. Can anyone actually offer me some information on the value of the drum. BTW, we have been together 28 years - married and yet I have no ***elry. I have three pair of shoes - crocs, hiking boots and leather mules. Please don't judge me. I came here for help.
Somewhere between $150 and $275.
Rogers drums are prized for their quality construction and wonderful sound.
Example of a drummer who may be familiar to you. Ringo Starr used Rogers hardware on his Ludwig drums...
The "Luxor" was entry level drum.
It would be a wonderful gift to a family member or friend who is interested in percussion. A copy of "The Rogers Book" by Rob Cook and this drum would be a wonderful combination for a young player (or old).
It appears to be in wonderful condition with a case and sticks.. $150 low end.. $200 pretty easy... $275.00 to the right buyer.

Thank you, Jim, for the reply. My husband has three brothers. None of them are interested in the drum. We have a son. He is not interested, thus far, in playing the drums. It is a bit more difficult for kids to play drums in school these days as they are required to have a background in piano. I would like the drum to go to someone who would use and enjoy it!
Offer it up in the for sale section, Jim is right, it is a real nice snare that should be played. Don't feel guilty about selling it.
Yea, then you could buy some Bling !
