Adhesive for loose badges

I have a couple of drum badges that are coming off on the edges, they seem to be some sort of metal alloy, I was wondering what type of glue or adhesive I can use to secure these badges....ideas?

You could try any number of fixes. You could replace the gromet and reseat the thing. You could add a touch of double side tape. You could add a touch of wood glue or rubber cement. Heck, if all else fails you could staple a hamster inside the drum and have his little hamster feet reach through the hole to hold the doggone thing on ... or ... you could use tape. Wait, I think I already mentioned tape. Well, you get the picture. Lots of choices.

Here's what I do, tape off the area around the badge with 1//4' masking tape.

if possible, sand the area under the badge and the back side of the badge with course sandpaper. this will allow the glue to adhere better. get a tiny paint brush. Get you some contact adhesive. I like the flammable kind. paint the back of the badge and the area on the shell that the badge sticks to. Let the glue dry till its tacky, not letting the badge touch the shell. then, just stick it down and remove the tape. If you taped it correctly, there wont be any clean up. Im fixin to do this to a drum i am restoring. If you screw up and get glue on the shell or anywhere you dont want it, it will come right off. Super glue, however wont just come right back off. Wood glue wont stick to metal very well. Or, take the grommet off, bend it right and re grommet it.

Go to Granger Supply in Valley View Ohio. Ask for 3M Fastbond Contact Adhesive 30-NF. I did this wrap and badge with it. Nothing better.

Just about any contact adhesive will do the same thing. I used weldwood, because that's what we use at my shop. There are several brands. It's the same thing they use to glue down formica down.
