Looks very nice, I really like the 80s Gretsch kits, same sound with way nicer hardware. Is it a wrap or a stain finish? Looks like a red rosewood stain to me, have never heard of red marble wrap on Gretsch, though I could be wrong.

Haha I don't think red maple exists. I'm a rookie and didn't know what to call it. I also am currently trying to find out everything about these drums from its previous owner. You're probably right with the red rosewood stain.

Thanks. I got it for free too from a very wealthy friend :D He didn't give me the Gretsch snare because he has it tuned the way he likes but I am waiting for when he will switches heads and hopefully (for me) he won't get his sound back and do a trade. *fingers crossed*

Dang, free red rosewood Gretsch! You have a very generous friend warworm. The rosewood is defintely a classy finish, one of the more sought after finishes from that era. Worth a pretty penny. What are the sizes?
