Stewart/Japanese Tension Rods

i recently bought a new hoop and tension rdos for my old stewart kit, i got them and they dont fit??

its like they are too big(diameter)

anyone know where to buy the right size ones?

The hoops should be fine if they have the correct number of holes to correspond with the lugs on the drums (6 lug, 8 lug, etc.) However, the t-rods that were on the drums originally are probably metric, so the inserts are metric as well.

You have 2 options. You can either buy some used metric t-rods and clean them up to look new, or you can buy standard inserts and swap out the metric inserts. I like to keep my MIJ stuff as original as possible, so I sometimes have to seek out the old parts, and that can be very difficult. But I have changed inserts before because it is much more convenient to have the availability of standard parts.

You should be able to get some new inserts easily at a drum/music store or online pretty easily. Finding the old parts... not so easy...

Thanks Kevin,Yes i do have the right t-rods for his drum..They are a thin metric size...P.M. if you still need them,are they for a mounted tom or floor tom..mount toms take shorter ones then the floor toms..Mikey
