Ok, but I don´t have the snare at the moment. Any info about the company? Are they still in business?

Without pix, we don't know what they are. Are they Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese...Please, post some pictures of the drums and the lugs, then we can make a more Educated stab at what you have. Sounds like they might be Japanese, but without pix...Could be Pearl, or Star stencils, or could be an unknown maker, we can't tell until we see them. As for the name...who knows where it came from.

From the look of these, they are contemporary stencils. Looks like a nice set of beginners, if you can get them cheap enough. Don't know where you live, but I have never seen them in the US. That doesn't mean anything, really, because I could import 10 kits at a time and silk screen my name of choice on them and pop them up on a free website, and there you would have it, Jonnistix New Old Super Drums, because they can be had at any spec level, from just exactly like GP,et. al. or any of the mid to upper end lines you can think of. There are some very nice shells being produced in China, and they are very market friendly, pricewise.

Negi is a drum company in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. still working.
They were used to refer as Japanese Gretsch,
which means a lot of players who couldn't buy Gretsch kit used Negi drums.
Today, a lot of Rock drummers are using them.
I used to have one. It's great quality. no stencils. The best quality in all of old Japanese drums IMHO. far better than Yamaha or Pearl. completely handmade by the late head, the dad of today's president. They used only the beech shell at first, but started to use maples, acrylics at one point.
Mine was probably 70s, so I don't know about current model.
The badges are different in each era, but they sometimes use old one to new drums. Here are pics. http://picasaweb.google.co.jp/elvinish335/NEGI#
I almost deleted these pics a few days ago. you are lucky.:D
Thanks for the info and the pictures. I live in Sweden, I wonder how the snare came here in the first place?

Takauya speaks the truth- they are higher end drums- probablly comparable to one of the small custom builders like Maryland Drum Company or such.
they don`t sell for too cheap here- drummers in Japan know they`re a good brand. Here`s a link to a nice Negi snare drum on auction tonight in Japan for about 220$Sumo Dude
***Also just found this link to more pics and a catalog pic!***
