PDP/Pacific

Can someone PLEASE tell me the difference,if there is any,between PDP and Pacific drums?Is this some sort of shell game;)being done by DW to sell these drums?If they are identical,why two names?

Well then-WHY two names?Has one been deleted?HMMMMMM.Very confusing to me.Like Ludwig/LUDCO at the same time.Maybe a DW bigwig can explain.

PDP is the shorthand term they use for the full name....like DW is shorthand for Drum Workshop......

Ummm....no.

Its the initials for the full name of the company because its too long to say all the time. And they called them Pacific because they are made on the west coast or pacific coast if you will, in their Mexican factory. I dont see where you can state they came up with PDP as copying OCDP since Pacific was out FIRST, or at least heavily advertised first.

In what year you start Orange County? I have noticed the two front head designs, and they do look similar for the PDP and OCDP logos. Sad it has come to that, but 13 year old kids will make the mistake, and then it's too late. If he wanted one, and ended up with the other, what a bummer, unless the sonic difference is not all that noticable. Do you make up your shells, or do you use Keller?

Hi, O.C.D.P. started in 1990..We used keller shells from 4ply and up also with or with-out rings..Mikey
