Can you date this snare for me?

Somewhere along the line, I think I swapped this one for the 1965 snare that came with my set. I can understand why, it sounds much better. But I have no clue what the age is? Looks like a 6 1/2, 10 lug and on the original Ludwig stand, it's too high. Keep on Pl

Makes me wonder where I left the thinner one with the keystone badge or if I traded it in with a set that was being recycled.

Better sound aside, did I screw up?

Yes that's a flannel muffler, I'm old...

you have one of the baddest snare drums on the planet, the one and only early 1971's ludwig 402 6 1/2x14, it is definitely early 1971's, no you didn't screw up, and just get a newer snared drum stand that allows for deeper size snare drums

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Must be my lucky month. First the Top Hat and Cane toms and now my favorite preforming snare isn't good sounding to me, just because I'm going deaf. Cool1

Yes, I did buy a much lower snare stand, which is also at it's bottom. I must be sitting short.

How tall are you Klinger? If your knees are sitting any higher than a 90 degree angle you may want to adjust your throne.

Unless, of course, the snare you left on the bar that night was a Jazz Fest...you probably done good. Or you had a wood Dynasonic by some stroke of mystery. Then it would have a been a very big boo-boo.
