Gretsch Broadkaster Drum Set

I find this interesting.....If this is seized property, then why is there so much other vintage stuff around? Also, why is this set up like a drummer would have it. Most public auctions stuff is scrambled, but this set is put together like a drummer would do it.

Secondly, I believe this website bids on the item for you, that is why there's a premium. Most auctions are open to the public. My dad worked for a city for 30 years and he was helping out on these all the time.

Lastly, the snare is a RB. Guessing from the serial, maybe mid to late 60's? I also dig the Sound Control series crashes. They had that tiny little upturn on the edge that made them cool. According to his website photos, Mr. Amelee used Sabian in photos, but endorsed others, including Ayotte.

mcjnic, I think you are my long lost brother....I like the way you think, and we agree on a lot of stuff.

Just so you know, GovDeals is a privately owned company and they are acting as a middle man to these auctions by providing links, photos, etc. In the age the computer and greedy consumers, it's called mass advertising and making money at it....

I'm not saying this isn't government stuff. It might be stuff seized by the government for tax liens, probate or who knows what. But I am saying that this is not a government run or sponsored site.

I'm done......for now

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

These drums are not seized property. They are from the estate of the late Progressive Jazz drummer, Dave Ameele. As far as I know, he's not going to show up at anyone's gig trying to get his kit back.

to mention that an 8.75% sales tax is imposed

Does this apply to people who reside in Oregon where there is no sales tax?

I'm still trying to understand why I'm paying for other states local

infrastructure when I have items shipped to my physical address

and I wasn't at their location - where the sales tax is enforced - buying

the item. I'm sure there is a good reason... electricit

I stand corrected then. The sucker who pays the five percent "buyers fee" and the tax on them can rest assured he will only get robbed by the ones collecting the five percent "buyers fee" then. I apologize for misrepresenting the source of this drum kit.

have a wonderful evening

Can we please block this person's threads so we don't open the door to every freekin' drum marketer out there...please?
