Also add 9-odd% for California sales tax.

Not sure why they don't tell you this when these posts come up.

You're absolutely right, Knavel. I did forget to mention that an 8.75% sales tax is imposed. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

So what's the story with you?

Do you advertise on this forum? Why are you putting these kits on here?

I don't get it. Are these your kits or are you some kind of business person that found an inroad to unload some gear?

I get a real funky feel from all of this.

Michael....found this from the previous posts from this person on the other Gretsch kit offered..."this particular drum kit was not confiscated from drug dealers. It's from the estate of late jazz drummer Dave Ameele. Please feel free to call me at 800.613.0156 ext 475 if you have any questions."

So they are settling an estate I guess? Either way, kind of hoakey asking for online payment only. Call it "forum spam" if you ask me (or maybe scam!).

I'd check it out 100% and in person before sending anything this person's way.

The old addage, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" may apply here......

Ludwig-dude,, also don't forget there is a 5% buyers fee, then their 9% sales tax, on top of all the other hoops you have to jump through, this sounds like a great deal for CALIFORNIA,Hurting

Doesn't sound like a great deal for anywhere if you ask me. Besides, its not like the kit is worth a ton to begin with. Its a late 1990's vintage low end USA built Gretsch kit made before they came out with the Catalina import line. They made them cheaper by limiting the sizes you could get, and then there's that love it or hate it hamered "gunmetal" finish on the hardware.....they may sound great, but there's still the ugly factor. This is why these never caught on when new. Ugly is still that, ugly.

If I was in the market for a Gretsch kit, it would be either white satin flame, piano black, or midnight pearl. :2Cents:

These drums are being auctioned by the Orange County Public Guardian's Office. This is completely legitimate, I can assure you. The link below will take you directly to the asset page.

If this doesn't sound like a great deal for California, then explain then how they meaning the state has confiscated this kit= FREE, then at the end of the sale add a 8.75% sales tax, then a 5% buyers premium, and the kit is up to $400.00 now, Sounds like a fairly sweet deal for the state of California to ME!!,Violin DOH Yes Sir

People who's property is seized by the government typically are not the most stable to begin with. Here is the scenario I can see. Some unlucky guy from San Clemente buys this kit and takes it to the OC Tavern on El Camino Real for a gig. The original owner and his cronies are there partying it up. "Hey, that looks like the drumset you used to have?" So on and so forth but the drummer in this skit is in a bad way or worse.........

Run far far away.

There are plenty of drums to be had on the market with much less baggage.

Why is there a five percent buyers premium too? What kind of b.s. is that? That is worse than the guy who wanted to charge extra for two sets of drumsticks on an expensive snare drum sale.........Laughing H

I wouldn't touch those drums if they came shipped to my house for fifty bucks.

have a wonderful evening
