I found this at our goodwill store... made in japan... 8 post
I can't find any information about it anywhere... is it a Pearl or Ludwig import
I am not a drummer but when I saw it I had to get it.
What is it worth?
Thanks for you time.
I saw an almost identical one go through the auctions last week here. If you don`t know anything about drums- this is a Made in Japan stencil snare drum from about 1970-73. Those are early aluminum rims which I have have on a matching Gracy blue sparkle kit. Those aluminum rims didn`t seem to age well and got rough and bumpy over time. Basically, your drum is worth about 90$ on a good day and 65$ on a bad one. Hope that helpsSumo Dude
I would have to say closer to 50 in that condition here in the states. I just cannot support MIJ drums at that price. They are what they are, nothing more. It is a relatively hard drum to play, and tuning can be a bear until you know what you are doing with it. It is a nice wrap, and that is all it has going for it, the wrap.
I agree on all points, I would prefer to pay 50$ for sure and you`re right- the sound is a specialty sound. For all the MIJs I own I cut in snare beds and re-work the bearing edges- then they open up alot more and sensitivity is increased. Let`s say 50$.
Since he got it at Goodwill, he prolly paid $10....At my Goodwill, all drums are 40 for complete kits, and 5-10 for individuals. They have my number and I get first shot at all of them...which is very far between....electricit
Thanks for the info OskaBop and Jonnistix,
I paid more than ten dollars but less than fifty... does the color have a name? like tiger stripe pearl or something?
so with the case and stand it's worth 50 to 65 on ebay? I want to put a "buy it now" price and not have people think I'm crazy. and would it be good to list it for international buyers... is there a better market overseas?

Offer it up for sale here, you already have a couple of profit-making estimates from cats that are in-the-know, and no Ebay fees around here.
Just a suggestion...............
I can`t say with 100% certainty but the international shipping costs make shipping one of these not such a great deal. These kind of drums are pretty available on Japanese auctions. I predict you would find a buyer without much difficulty in the USA- if you want to be fair you can start you auction at 20$ and a buy it now at 60$ I think that`s honorable and fair.
