MIJ Stencil "Rogers beavertail" snare lugs needed

Loading...

Hi,I have a Rogers Holiday snare drilled for 2 inch c to c b&b lugs.I'd love to put beavertails on it. Real beavertails are too short, even if I drilled the shell to accept them, you would see some of the hole on the top of the lug!

My very first snare (not counting the plastic Maestro lol) was with a MIJ Stencil kit. I still have 1 lug from it. It has a 2 and 1/4 c to c hole spacing and, would fit my shell if I enlarged one of the holes.Problem is,I need 7 more. If anyone has some they want to part with, please contact me.Thanks!

The lugs I need are pictured on this site in the drum hardware section, click on japanese. The tone control and throw were also identical to the hardware on the red Crown snare. Thanks again.

Have you tried some of the supply houses ?.... Drumfactory Direct has the Sound King replicas, and others. Link.......

Thanks Kevin! I was not aware of this supply house. They unfortunatly don't have the Rogers style (but larger)beavertail. I doubt anyone has it new these days.I think I have to find an old MIJ snare for parts or,someone who just has the lugs.

Drumfactory does have 1 or 2 that may fit w/o drilling. One is similar to b@b's so,that could be an option.

They also have excellant pricing on the Radio King beavertail repros. Thanks again for the info and,Happy New Year!

Buy the reproduction lugs, and dont screw up a vintage drum. Besides, the drum gods wont send you to hell later.

Ha! Ploughman,I'm already bdetined for hell for what I did to a 40's RK kit back in the 70's! If I knew then............ Oh well. If you hear of anyone with those fake larger Rogers copies, let me know.Meanwhile,I came across some fake b&b MIJ lugs. These do not insert into the shell so,I think I can attach them with one screw and hopefully, the tension rods will keep them in place.

The Island Music Rodgers drums and certain late 70's early 80's Gretsch Blackhawks(but NOT all) have the lugs you are looking for.You see drums on Ebay occasionally.

Hi, I think i have the lugs you are looking for, these are copys of rogers b&b snare lugs, they look just like rogers even have the felt padding around the srings..they came off a st.george snare-[a rogers copy drum from the 60s] I will have to check the space on the screw holes...P.M. later today...Mikey
