Ludwig 1968: 22 - 12 - 13 - 16
Clean white interiors; minimal wear and tear; no modifications; all original.
The asking price is 1600.
I ask the experts: waddaya think?
that is high if a snare were to come with it, but not just the drums pictured, blue sparkle is one of the most common colors, good luck, mark
I'll be a bit more direct...
That's an INSANE price! Way way way way too high. You could get that kit in very nice condition for half that. Seriously.

I certainly wouldn't want to PAY that much. But...
WHERE is this kit in very nice condition for half that? I've been looking for almost a month now....
I don't mean to sound snotty!! :p I seriously mean it—I'd love this set, but have not been able to find this for anything less than 1300-1400! I guess what I'm trying to express is, I don't know how much longer I'm supposed to be searching to find a kit like this for 800-900....
OK, hold back and tell me what you really think!! it might be another channeling kit Laughing H

Here's one almost identical that couldn't sell on ebay for 1450. If it's worth 1600, then this one should have sold.
Here's one again that couldn't sell for 1395.
Here's a blue oyster one that couldn't sell for 1099.
Here's a black pearl one that included a sweet snare and couldn't sell for 1799.
Here's a current listing for a Champagne Sparkle that hasn't sold. It's got an 1199 buyitnow. It is a relisted item that had a 1377 price on it. It won't sell for 1199 either due to the condition.
Finally, here's one that sold. It is a Silver Sparkle with hardware and snare. It went for 585.
Here's a red sparkle that went for 810.
...and here's one almost identical that did sell for 929. Blue sparkle and all...
There have been plenty more. I just saw one close last night. It was a 22,12,13,16 Mach 5 in blue silk. It went for 665.
The point of all this is ... you can do better than that price. You can do way better. The days of Luddy kits costing 1600-2500 are over ... for now. Currently, these 60's and 70's kits are running between 500-900 dollars solid. If you shop carefully, you can pick up three kits for the cost of that one. It's not unheard of. You could get a nice kit for 700, a cool Standard for 350 and a Vistalite for another 400. That is very doable in this market.
I completely agree with my brother forum member mcjnic this kit is way over priced. they are on craigslist and eBay fairly often as i stated blue sparkle is one of the most common colors which devalues the cost, just take your time and shop around they are available
I know of one in blue sparkle, he was asking 800.00 for it about two years ago. I saw the guy a month or so ago and he said he still had the kit. We talked about making a trade for it but he wanted cash. It is a three piece. If you want I can check to see if he still has it, maybe you can get it for less than 800.00 PM me if you want me to check on it.
Theres a B/O Clubdate in blue sparkle 3pc 12, 14, 20 on Austin craigslist right now for $700. Looks pretty nice from the pics.

Before I joined this forum I bought my first vintage kit and probably paid $300.00 more than I should have. I didn't know better at the the time but I don' t regret it either. $1600.00 is to much for that kit but if you find something you really like and it cost a little more than it should, then I say buy it if it makes you happy. With this set you have plenty of similar sets for a better price to choose from.
