Ok Another Ebay Question On Payment Ways
Technically, its against ebay's rules now, but I have been guilty of this before myself. If you say yes and something goes wrong, neither of you will have any recourse with ebay on this one. If his feedback rating is good, I'd say take the chance, but don't send anything out until the money order clears. Also, if you do go this route, tell the buyer you only accept US POSTAL money orders, no other kinds. US Postal money orders are hard to counterfiet. Other money orders can be easily faked, plus you don't really know who its drawn from. A postal money order, at least you know where thats drawn from.
Outstanding advice.
Mikey, the advice is on the mark that ludwig-dude has given you, also the US Postal money order does offer a little protection for your buyer, if you do not deliver ,the post office will be coming after you for postal fraud, and you have to offer insurance it is mandatory now on eBay so included that in your charge to the buyer, but as advised don't ship until the funds have cleared your bank, and i take Postal money orders as much as possible to keep pay pal's grubby hands out of the pot, good luck
Careful. They can clear your bank, and when the bank finds out they are fraud when they try to collect from the "source", they can come back to you can remove money from your account weeks later. Unless you know they are real, check with your bank on their policy on time for them to determine if the money order is fraud.
You can also have a money gram sent by Western Union (not money order) and collect cash at a WU outlet. I have done this for an overseas sale where a USPS money order was not possible.
Best thing to do is say, sorry Paypal only and be done with it. At least that way you are protected if something goes wrong.
I've accepted the Canadian equivalent of a postal Money Order in the past and had not had a problem. However, I was suspect of this guy and I was biting my nails, as the a USPS employee told me the buyer had the luxuray of challenging the transaction for up ot 6 months. In the end, all went well. That said with all of the preceeding suggestions, I would have to agree with insisting upon using slave-pal. Yeah, fees, fees, fees, but you have protection. Side Note: My ebay purchases are made via an AMEX-backed PayPal account. I had an issue with a real jag-a-loon seller and I opted for AMEX's help, in lieu of PayPal's (PayPal was like, too busy to help). Can you say, Hound Dog? AMEX really went to work for me. Hmmm, maybe I'm on a tangent here. Anyway, good luck.
Hi All, What i did is emailed him back and asked him after almost 100 feedback with 100% good..Why no paypal account?..I just ended the email saying Pal Pal only..just to be safe..Mikey
Mikey, that is the best way to roll, and he really can't give you any beef about it, that is feebays policy, so you are totally safe, and this is another option he can pay with a credit card thur pay pal, if he says i don't have a pay pal account, all he needs to do so is your email address, go get em
Careful. They can clear your bank, and when the bank finds out they are fraud when they try to collect from the "source", they can come back to you can remove money from your account weeks later. Unless you know they are real, check with your bank on their policy on time for them to determine if the money order is fraud.
Yeppers thee above quote is exactly correct.
like thee other person said if your going to except only take a postal money order.
