What Would You Do About This Ebayer

Mikey,

If the part and box weighs no more than 4lbs., you can use USPS International Air Mail for around $10.00 to $15.00...

Remember that Paypal now makes the seller responsible for all shipments. If your item is damaged or lost, you as the seller will have to pay for it, even if the buyer doesn't pay any insurance. In fact it is now ebay policy that you can no longer ask for optional insurance, so it must be worked into the shipping cost. So make sure to use a shipping method that allows full insurance and tracking...if the buyer asks you to do otherwise, tell them that they are in violation of ebay policy.

One thing that can work when buyers ask you to do something that strays from your auction terms is to ask for a positive feedback first. Explain that if they are going to ask you to bend your rules, then it's only fair that they bend the rules a little as well by leaving you a positive feedback before the item can be shipped.

Thanks,

Bill

Feel free to use my instructions at will. Just don't use my name or come looking for me if it don't work.

As far as Ebay goes, it's still the largest audience to sell an item, and IMHO the real judge of how much something costs or what someone is willing to pay. I have had good experiences with a lot of buyers, one in particular who lived in Switzerland that not only sent me the extra money for a shipping goof, but also sent an extra 5 bucks to cover my gas. The one and only negative I got was from a jerk, who I tried to be nice as possible to make it work, and he still took me to claims, slandered my name to PayPal and Ebay and won.....by default, I just got tired of dealing with him. All over a 20 dollar package that was lost by USPS, and was delivered after 24 days, a bit torn up. Buyer said he tried to remove the negative, but he didn't. He's a jerk, he knows that I was right and he tried to be a bully about it. BIG MISTAKE...I could only give him a positive, so I did, with a few choice comments.

BTW, because of insurance, I now have added $3.50 to each listing in handling, it hasn't changed the shipping much for the people who bought the insurance before, it just is not an option for those who didn't....and it protects me and my buyer.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I have been in your same shoes and it sucks, hey here's a suggestion deal with only english speaking countries, they seem to understand better, man i feel your pain, good luck, mark Hmmmm

As a Scandinavian I feel mildly offended by your remark. I totally understand the predicament the seller is in, but I don´t subscribe to the idea that this is a language problem. Most, if not all, Scandinavians speak english almost fluently (at least for most practical purposes). I think this Norwegian guy is just being a cheap jerk (Norwegians are known for this:D)

I didn't really mean the language barrier, i meant what we have to deal with as a whole of the eBay restrictions and international shipping process, and I am dealing with one of your country men as we speak i have sent 4 emails and haven't gotten one response yet? and it has been over a week so this is experience talking I will not sell to Italy or Spain both countries are a total pain, and i am not new at all to the eBay selling process, this is simply my experiences that i have had with international selling, australia, the UK have been total pleasure and Germany, and japan, vintagemore2000 is my eBay user name you can check my track record, 100% feedback 446 transactions my DSR levels are all 5.0 or 4.9 all the way across the board, mark
