Is the first guy correct about Zilcos? He says "ZILCO's were A Line of Cymbal Produced By Zildjian From 1968 To 1970 Again From 1976 To 1979 At The AZCO Canada Plant - These Had SINGLE Solid Line Style Letters in The Name Stamp ZILCO Accompanied By The Words Trade Mark."
"It is Widely KNOWN There were MUCH EARLIER ZILCO's Produced with FULL BLOCK Letters in The Stamp Used For The Name Instead of The Single Line Letters - And The Name of The TURKISH City : CONSTANTINOPLE Also in The Stamp Instead of The Words Trade Mark. I have some Zilco hats that I bought used with a set in the 70's. I always assumed it was the later (70's) cymbals. But the stamp on mine look identical to the ones he shows - Zilco in full block letters with Constantinople below. No mention of Trademark or Azco. Which he says make them the early ones. Is this really correct?

Yes, Jaye. You know better than to bring up the MesoAmerican Azco peoples and their bitter enemy, the Zilcos. Horrible religious practices including human sacrifice and infant cannibalism. The political references associated with these ancient peoples is felt even today. Unbelievable that you would even mention them in this day and time.

So that explains something I've been wondering for years. The ones I have are 13" ones with obvious hand-hammering, just like these from the same seller http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200415295978&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT . I figured they were the 70's AZCO ones since they came with a 70's set. But they are great hats, and I never understood why Zilcos were considered second-rate cymbals - I used them anyway even once I had bought some Zildjians. Now I get it - the ones I had were the earlier non-Azco's. Thanks.
