You should have just gotten the regular puresound snare wires, the tab ones don't offer hardly any adjustment, if you can take em back do so, but if not here is how you bend the tab, place the snare wire on a table, place the tabs over the edge of the table, place your fingers on the end of the brass end, press down firmly and with your other hand bend the tabs just enough to shape them some place em in the butt end and the strainer then the tighten effect will shape them the rest of the way, the puresounds will blow you away excellent choice, better than stock wires, hope this is of help. mark

I have heard a lot of great things about the puresound snares...Mark once I do the bending and rough setup any tricks to the final adjustments or they pretty straightforward..looks to me once you do the bends and such (have to drill the hole) it appears to be ok

when you refer not using the tabs you talking about just getting an extended pair and using nylon strap instead.. will the one screw at the attachment be sufficient with the nylon strap or will the hole elongate..

sounds like you have maybe used both

HI, If you are referring to the 3 point strainer with the small screw on the 3 point side you will have to make the bend then make a small hole for the screw, really you don't want to use the metal band type they offer almost no adjustment, just get the regular custom snare wires and use string to mount the snare wires, it will sound super, hope this helps. mark

I did the photography and applications for the vintage wires that Puresound sold. When the company changed they removed it from the web site.

Fortunately I kept the files and just put them on the site for people needing help.

I just updated the page and cleaned it up.

David, I saw a reference above to a similar page for adjusting Rogers Dynasonic snares. Could you please post a link to that or tell me how to find it? I recently found some Dynasonic gut snares from the estate of Forrest Clark and will see how they sound. Thanks, Joe
