Ludwig Green Sparkle

Hi guys. The kit is a re-wrap, it was trashed, someone had removed the oiginal wrap and painted them with matt black house paint (!) however the shells were great so could be salvaged. Never liked the internal mufflers so they were removed and the holes filled afterwards (sorry purists)

The acrolite has also been wrapped in green sparkle but it does look great.

More pictures here: http://s297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/TheLeveeBreaker/

The reso head shall soon be replaced by a solid smooth white head with a smaller 70's logo.

The badges are real however i am dubious about the grommets myself, need to get some chrome ones. The bass drum badge should probably point towards me but It's no big deal IMO. I might change it however i think it might just be glued down now so, maybe not.

Oh and the crash is an old 60's Zyn 18" with sizzles that I got for free, sounds really trashy thanks to its warpedness, but it will be replaced by a paiste giant beat 18" soon to match he 20" I already have. band3

Nice job cleaning and wrapping. Cool kit. I would really like to see some intricate pics of that snare you covered.

Ok. Anyone wants to see more pics of the acrolite check back on the photbucket link in my first post. They are in that album ;)

The badge reads B8732 btw.

I am thinking about trying to find a 26x14 bass drum and a 14 x 10 tom so i can have a little 22/13/(14)/16 practice/rehearsal kit and a big 26/14/16 recording/live kit. Hmmmm.... maybe.

That acrolite wrap job is cool. I was wondering what you were going to do about the center bead. Also, adding those sizes to your kit is a great idea. If you do find a 16x24 bass drum, it will not be 3-ply though. 14x24 3-ply = yes.

Yeah, the Acro looks cool wrapped like that. Why not, right?

So, yeah I was just pointing out that your initial post didn't indicate any details about the set being refurbished. Of course the red flags were obvious, but I wanted to point some of them out in case maybe you had purchased the kit thinking that it was original. I think the kit is very pretty and it looks like you did a nice clean job. I'm sure the drums sound great, too. Nice job!

Thanks O-Lugs. I think the chance of me finding a completely original green sparkle kit with little to no fading is near non existent so I'm extremely happy with a refurb :)
