General question: when did Sonor drums become more coveted for their quality and sound? I really didn't see them until Blair Cunningham of Paul McCartney's band was using them in live shows in the early-mid 1990s. I see them a lot now and I think today's Sonors achieve the perfect middle ground of vintage sound & current building practices. If that makes sense.

It does make sense. Sonor seems to adopt a bling factor now.

But quality, If you put a Sonor Phonic throw off next to a Ludwig Supraphonic throw off, in a photo they would appear similar, and the same in design.

But if you had them both in your hand, you would clearly see why you would not take the Ludwig again.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!
