This is what happens when natural selection meets Rogers drum parts. Joe Thompson might not be smiling, but he might be curious as to how these are to be used.

Saw those on eBay. Tempting, but no real use for that configuration myself. Someone did some modification that worked when needed.

Actually, it looks like it was modified to insert into a Big-R Memriloc bass drum bracket. Necessity is the mother of invention!!

I was thinking that Neil Aspinall might have able to use the one shown on the right in the photo. Drill-in a Swivo bass mounting plate but save the Ludwig mount on the 8x12 or 9x13 tom. The 'L' part looks like it might have been rounded using a grinder.

Actually, for what it's worth, the Rogers tom mount adaptations on Ringo's kits were done by Drum City, the London importer/distributor for Ludwig. Dave Golding, a Drum City employee, did the mod on at least one of Ringo's kits, and may have done them all. Gary Astridge has a multitude of details on his website: ringosbeatlekits.com

While other vintage drum buffs may yawn, I find this minutia very interesting.
