Super-Sensitive Snare Wires

Hi Folks!I recently was fortunate enough to "snare" a Ludwig Super-Sensitive snare drum.According to the serial number it is a 1965 vintage.It looks like the six remaining snare wires are ancient. All the dual-strainer parts seem to be present.Do these have to be strung up with individual wires or is there a drop-in set option?I did find one such set online but the listing said it only fit 1968 and later models...I've never owned one of these babies before, so any advice is appreciated!Thanks!

That's OK, I'm hoarding a NOS set of PLS-1416 wires just in case I get a Ludwig Super Classic snare drum!

See photo. Snare wires on the left with the longer/taller mount are for SS thru 1968. The wires on the right with the shorter/wider mount are for 1969 and onward. Hope you can find a set.

Thanks for posting that picture! Yep, the wires on the left are pure gold now! I just don't understand why daddario doesn't offer these on a special order basis. The same for the PLS-1416 for the Ludwig Super Classic snare drum or the wires for the Slingerland Sound King snare drum.

Thanks for the pictures.

I'm going to get my original 10 wire adjustable set "re-wired".

I'll let you know how that turns out!
