Has anyone dealt with Purdie Shuffle?

To me, he’s responsible for packing the drums well and in a way to prevent damage. I own a store, and any time something has ever gotten damaged in transit, I’ve always taken care of the customer.

Yes, that is what any ethical seller should do. Unless the buyer arranged their own shipping, the shipper (USPS, UPS etc.) is an agent of the seller and therefore the seller is ethically responsible for the shippers actions. A transaction is incomplete if the buyer does not receive goods in the condition advertised. An ethical seller will a) make things right with the customer, then b) seek recourse from their shipper.

Having dealt with shipping damage, the shipper is the one who has to make the claim if they are the person who stated the value and paid for the shipping insurance.

That's exactly right, the shipper has to file a claim with whomever they shipped with, it's certainly not the buyers responsibility. I know this because I had a few kits damaged in transit that I had shipped. I bought the insurance, so I had to file a claim.

I had -nothing- to do with the shipping arrangements. I refunded his shipping money. He made all the arrangements and provided me with a label.

Can you please get back to the purpose of this site. I don’t much like being made the topic of a negative thread.

Anybody else wish to involve themselves in my business? If so you should look into getting a life.

John

PS- Chris please contact whoever you paid for shipping with your damaged goods complaint. I am an end stage kidney/dialysis patient and I really don’t need or appreciate the aggravation. My job is to stay positive and focus my attention on staying as well as I can. You’re not helping - at all.

Too many great drums to list here!

I'm sorry about your medical problems, I have some too. I didn't realize that he made all the arrangements and provided you with a label. I hope you get well soon.

That’s about 25% of the story, but there is no use arguing with John, nor was that the point of post.

As John mentioned, let’s get back to the purpose of the for sale forum — providing a safe and trustworthy place to buy drums from people.
