I've seen drums with this anomaly posted on the forum in the past. The badge on the interior seems to be a way to snug up the badge that is seen on the outside of the drum. I don't think it serves a similar purpose as an extra button sewed to the shirt tail.

I had a WFL "masonite shell" snare drum with about 7 wfl badges on the inside shoring up the grommet. Apparently, not unusual for back then?
I had one in the day too
Never seen that before, but it's interesting. Thanks for posting.
The inside of the breather hole is blown out a bit from the drill bit and you've got at least 100 more to do before your shift ends...
do you
A: go off in search of the right sized washer to shore up the grommet?
or
B: Just grab another badge out of the bin?
I think you know the answer.
Ha!
K.O., there's our answer, fer shur !
Thanks! MB
