Sometimes it is worth the effort to scrutinize even the most mundane ads on Craigslist...Drum Set-$75-good for beginner, comes with pedal and snare stand,and......

So far,the butt side snare holder is missing a post, and the throw side has been replaced with a Yamaha(yes, holes were drilled)but come on!I'll live with it.It also came with a Rockstar drum set.

Had the same thing happen to me, paid $380.00 for a custom made Jazz sized kit with 3 older A Zildjians, speed king pedal. Got there and checked it out, snare was a Max Roach 4 x 14 Gretsch RB. Rewrapped, but all original beyond that...

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

I absolutely agree. Sometimes just doing a simple search is the way to go. I like using keywords such as drum or cymbal which brings up listings you may not find using specific keywords such as Ludwig or Zildjian. Some people are unaware of what they actually have and will use simple words to describe it.

I've searched with symbol and symbal also. Once I came up with a cute 60's stencil in red sparkle and a load of vintage UFIP's for $20.00.

Must have been the same idiot that I got my Gretsch snare from......that had a Yamaha throw-off fitted to it along with many others in the past, as was seen by the extra holes drilled.....I don't get why people don't look harder for the correct stuff to begin with BEFORE they start drilling holes.....DOH

They went to their "buddy" at the music store and said "I need a throw and I got this many monies...." and that is what the idiot sold them, wiothout asking, or the first idiot said "I don't care, I gots a drill..." and so the drum dude doesn't know he's gonna drill holes in a $500 drum. Or he took the clockface off that old drum in the shed that said rogers somethin' er other....Laughing H

I have to say that if it were not for those uninfected by the drum virus,we would not be discussing my recent aquisition. And then there's the flip side-

Pearl Export 5 piece w/zbt's,only 2 years old-$995.I like the first kind betterer.

Did I mention that the Camco key was still in the holder......

I'm also thinking of putting it together with stock parts rather than Camco, for fiscal reasons, but without drilling, just to see how it sounds.Never owned or played one.

Funny thing is, these throw-offs aren't cheap.......Yamaha wants $65 for those things! So someone plunked some dough down.....if you're gonna spend that kinda "monies" why not shell it out for the correct strainer??
