Here's my 1961 Rogers 20-12-16-matching snare set in BDP. I think that the drums had B&B lugs in 1961. I ordered the set with the snare drum on a Swivomatic mount. I'm not real sure if these pictures are from 1962, 1963, or 1964.

I'm showing this Powertone snare drum, simply because it's BDP and would have been a great alternative snare drum to the COB Powertone or Dynasonic. That, plus it was NOS and sold for $1,025 back in July, 2014. Enjoy!

What a find! Can you imagine finding it will box and all. I recall buying a new set of Ludwigs back in the late 90's early 2000's. I kept the boxes for a while figuring someone would eventually like to have them. Then I sold the kit about 5 years later and chucked the boxes. Oh well. The plans of mice and men.

PS - I gather that 20, 12, 16 was a very common setup in that era, but since I mostly wasn't paying attention at the time can you confirm that?

For Rogers drums, that was the most common 1 up/1 down configuration. There were not many Rogers 14x14 floor toms. 22-13-16 was another common Rogers configuration and also the 20-two 12s-16 configuration. The lore is that Rogers 20" bass drums and 12" toms were smaller but ballsier than the usual 22" and 13" drums of the other leading brands.
