What kind of snare and bridge is this?
I have never seen a bridge like this on a Jupiter Snare
Good luck finding replacement snares.
I believe that’s an early 80s model.
I agree with leedybdp, which is why I went with the 70s model over that one with the more common parallel strainer.
I've played a few.
Too gimmicky and finicky.
According to the 1980 Pearl catalogue that would be an S-017 parallel action strainer on a B4515X chrome over brass snare. I've never owned a parallel version, but have had a few non-parallel 4515's and love 'em.

Which is why I avoided the nickname all together and used the model numbers. Though they have had different model numbers over the years, 4214 custom brass snare drum in the earlier 70's then the B4514 from around the '75 catalogue onwards, these sport exactly the same 3 lined COB shells as the Jupiter. So yes & no. There is effectively no non-parallel version that is LITERALLY called a Jupiter, but yes the same snare with a gladstone style strainer instead of a parallel action strainer does exist.
