I just got this MIJ CB700 Copper Free Floating snare drum....man this thing sounds great! I know CB700 had connections with Pearl. Looks like the patent was CB700's before it was Pearl's. Did Pearl own CB700? What is the history there?

Thanks for the info! I was pretty sure CB700 was made by Pearl. I am still confused why Pearl would have had the patent through the CB700 name for the free floating snare design when they ended up having the patent through "Pearl". Anyway you look at it, I'm really happy with this snare drum :)
