This dude wants to trade his Ludwig silver sparkle for mine. His has a 13,16,20, mine has a 13,16,22. He prefers a 22, as do I, the main reason I'm thinking about doing the deal is because his kick has the rail and cymbal mount, I also have a 20 original Ludwig logo head that would go nicely with his kit.
Ludwig for Ludwig?
Cool I love the look of the rail mount and cymbal mount, but is the 20 enough for your sound?
Go for it, I am a rail guy also, love the look.
Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit
A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl
It maybe the picture, but that kit looks pretty faded
nope........

Well, we wound up doing a partial trade, he really only wanted my kick and since my toms were less faded than his, we just swapped kick drums. He also threw in $50 for good measure.
I think it looks pretty cool with the rail and L-arm. The 20" kick sounds pretty good and looks very nice with the logo head I had kept from another kit.
Congrats on the trade!!
Could be the lighting, but, the bass looks more ginger-alish compared to the toms...Did the 22 match the aging of the toms?
Cheers

1980`s Ludwig Coliseum Piano Black 8x14 snare
1973 Rogers Superten 5x14 & 6.5x14 COS snares
1970`s John Grey Capri Aquamarine Sparkle 5x14 snare
1941 Ludwig & Ludwig Super 8x14 snare
I always thought the 20" bass drums sounded better than the 22" bass drums. I could NEVER get a 13" tom to sound good....the 16 X 16....I guess so...not my cup of tea...Oh well to each his own.

Nope, the 22 was brighter than the toms, it was a put together kit, so I wasn't worried about breaking it up. I bought the 22 off a dude on the Ludwig FB page, the 13 off Reverb and I already had the 16 from the Club Date drums I sold.

I see...Well, looks like you did well on the trade!! Especially, with the extra $50 thrown in...
